We were attending a wedding at the famous Rosslyn Chapel in June 2024 and due to a mix up we had booked our original hotel for wrong dates and could not rebook due to the Taylor Swift concert demand . Fortunately we found The Peebles hotel available for the correct dates. When we arrived we were delighted with its location and view and our room looked out of the front of the hotel across the grounds towards the hills . Plenty of parking in the front of the hotel. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful getting our luggage to our room on 2nd floor. An afternoon lunch in the bar area proved very good with prompt friendly service and breakfast on both days was very superbly managed by the staff despite the large volume of people (Swifties) going through the restaurant. We slepted comfortably in the bed which is always a blessing. We noted that the hotel ran lots of activities for families , there was also a big wedding on at the hotel on the same Saturday as we went off to ours but even when we arrived back late Saturday night there was no disruption from noise. There was also spa facilities but sadly time commitments did not allow us to take advantage of them. On the day we left I found I had somehow mislaid my wedding hat and mentioned it to the receptionist who took my details. She rang me some time later to say it had been found and would arrange to get it back to me which she did so .10/10 goes to her for being so efficient in dealing with the matter. Overall this is a big hotel , but it is very well run by friendly welcoming staff and is looked after which is in my books very important. It has a lovely feel to it of its days gone by we would certainly stay there again if we are in the area .

This was a very old building with lots of history and they had the history through out the building for you to read and see pictures which is a great idea although the building is very old it has been modernist over the years and looks lovely although there is a lot more work needing done on the building inside and out. We went as a family with our dogs, and they were welcomed in most of the staff were amazing especially the restaurant manager Colin, he always went out his way to make sure you were accommodated, and when there was any issues he quickly resolved them, our first evening there and the food was amazing there was an area for us to have our meal out the way with the dogs, a bar area there so was really good our 2nd and 3rd day, there was only the no cocktail bar available for us with dogs, which was very small and having an elderly dog who lines there own space wasn’t the best place for her, the food on both these nights was not what we had the first night, the curry was not a curry, was edible but couldn’t actually say what it was, it was more like a microwave meal without flavour and wasn’t pleasant to look at one of our party had the chicken burger but wasn’t cooked properly, the restaurant manager Colin couldn’t have been nicer about this, the other staff in the no cocktail bar didn’t have a clue and one in particular was very abrupt after speaking to the manager, the first night in the no cocktail bar one of our party burnt there hand on a very hot plate the server didn’t say it was very hot and they didn’t have a clue how to deal with the issue of a burnt hand, just handed a glass of ice cubes and told don’t no what else to do.

The hotel was really nice, very spacious when walking around, the grounds were very picturesque. Our view of the hills was amazing. Great Leusure Club, and Spa facility too. Had a lovely DT Massage befire we left. Nice dining and bar areas. Loved the fact the hallways were adorned with old pics and history of the hotel. It was very interesting to see. Also the location was brilliant a literal 5-10 minutes walk into town.

The hotel has an impressive list of activities to suit everyone's interests, and you have the lovely town of Peebles to explore within a short walking distance. I loved seeing the history of the building in photo frames across different parts of the hotel. Staff were friendly and polite when greeting us for an evening meal and breakfast in the dining area. At breakfast time, there was an amazing selection of food.
